Experience
I have had the opportunity to teach English in Taipei, Taiwan to students in elementary and middle school, where I worked in classrooms and with after school groups. The experience of working with young students learning the English language allowed me to develop many teaching techniques that I am able to utilize with students. Although I faced many challenges in the work, it was ultimately an enriching and rewarding experience to watch the students grow their language proficiency. While I am most passionate about literature and the English language, I am available to tutor a wide variety of subjects. I find enjoyment in working with students of any age. I strive to create individualized lessons for my students so that I can match their needs, goals, and abilities. I want to provide my students with the tools they need to be able to take control of their education. I earned my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin as part of the Plan II Honors program. The program is a liberal arts major that is interdisciplinary. Some of my interests are art, movies, and music. I have also co-written and co-directed an independent film and I've had my poetry published. My future plan is to pursue a creative writing graduate degree.
