Education

BS - Applied Mathematics BS - Biology, Chemistry minor MS - Natural Resources I graduated from Northern Kentucky University in 2013 with Bachelors' of Science degrees in Applied Mathematics and Ecological, Evolutionary, and Organismal Biology with a minor in Chemistry. I received my Master's of Science in Natural Resources from the University of Idaho in 2015 where I focused on statistical applications in natural resources.

Experience

I absolutely love learning and helping others do the same. This has led me through a smorgasbord of education, research, and courses with a focus for integrating these different disciplines. Research: I have done research in several areas. As an undergraduate I did mathematical research assessing the chaotic nature of interstellar magnetic fields, work which utilized mathematical programming, astrophysics, numerical methods, and differential equations. I also performed biological field work in Costa Rica and marine science field work in Florida. My graduate research included experimental design, implementation, analysis, and publication. I have done work assessing the accuracy of field equipment in forestry, evaluating current statistical methods in natural resources including fire and climate, and analyzing acoustics. I have multiple academic publications in submission. Testing: I scored a 4 or 5 on each AP exam I took, including Engligh Language, English Literature, Physics, Calculus AB, Psychology, and U.S. History. I took both the ACT (with a score of 34) and the SAT (2190). I scored a 1390 on the GRE (old form score). Additionally, I took and passed the Chemistry CLEP test. Tutoring: The majority of my experience has been tutoring college students, but would love to help any and everyone I can. I have worked with science camps for underprivileged high school students and science days for middle and elementary school students. I mentor undergraduate researchers. I also enjoy helping others write, review, and edit papers.

Hobbies

I moved west from Kentucky for graduate school and have fallen in love with the region, though I haven't quite gotten used to the cold yet! When I'm not outside with my dog, Oskar, I love to cook (and eat!), paint, and garden. I am a science nerd through and through and ravenously read academic literature.
