Experience
I recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Montana. I initially declared a biology major because I found the math required of physical sciences very difficult. Despite the fact that I got Cs in many of my high school math classes, after being forced to do math in college I found it very intriguing. Not only was the structure attractive, I found it useful to the thought experiments I enjoyed. This is one of the main experiences that I use in tutoring students.I am able to approach students with the perspective of someone who has slowly grown to appreciate both science and math. I feel like this makes me able to relate to students in ways many tutors are not. I can tutor students in various math and science disciplines, including algebra, calculus, trig, and chemistry. I am excited to share what I have learned with my students, and I hope I get the chance to get to know you and help out. When I am not tutoring, I enjoy being outside, especially doing things like skiing, hiking, biking, and playing golf. I also like to travel, and I was able to live in Wales and Sweden for a year.
