Geoffrey Taylor is a professional violinist living in the beautiful mountain town of Missoula, Montana. Geoffrey started studying piano with his mother at age 5 and began violin lessons at 8. He graduated from the University of Northern Colorado's School of Music with a Bachelor of Music in violin performance in 2011. Since graduating, Geoffrey has played with the Billings Symphony Orchestra, the Helena Symphony and the Missoula Symphony Orchestra. He is a founding member of award-winning bluegrass band Ted Ness and the Rusty Nails, where he writes and arranges music and plays throughout the Northwest. Geoffrey teaches music as a private instructor and for diverse institutions, including Missoula County Public Schools, Billings Public School District, Arts Without Boundaries and the Salvation Army. Geoffrey has also participated in the Sewanee Summer Music Festival, Brevard Summer Music Festival, Gold Coast Chamber Music Festival and Open Space Festival of New Music. Influential teachers include Richard Fuchs, Jennifer Dalmas, Ruth E. Morrow, and Diane Fossen.

Every Wednesday night I host a jam for acoustic musicians at a local brewery where my students are welcome to join and often do. It's a great way to use the skills learned in lessons and learn from experienced players.
